WOCC is a feasibility study for a residential mixed use development along the fifth ring road of beijing. It lies east of the city centre.

Beijing planning regulations are very rigid in terms of distance between buildings, sun exposure of units and massing of the site, which usually results in severe uniformity of a residential development. Every project usually looks like the other in terms of its urban qualities.

The project explores the possibility to avoid the uniformity by introducing urban clusters, that have different spatial and volumetric characteristics. The aim is to create a rich and variable master plan.
