

ICE wins the prestigious 5-Star Asia Pacific Property Award for the 'Best Mixed-Use Architecture in Vietnam' with Ocean Heights - New Sustainable Community in Vietnam, beating competitors like Aedas, PTW and Indochina Land in that category.

ICE is commissioned to design a 900 sqm mixed-use residential tower in Hong Kong. The design brief is requesting a display of environmental features and high tech applications in order to promote a different residential and working environment.

ICE - ideas for contemporary environments wins a prestigious Asia Property Award
The Asia Pacific Property Awards 2011 in association with Bloomberg Television have just been judged and ICE - ideas for contemporary environments has been informed that it is amongst the winning companies. Successful entrants have been invited to attend a high profile gala presentation dinner at the Longemont Hotel Shanghai on May 31st. ICE - ideas for contemporary environments will then discover whether the company has won a five-star or highly commended award in the category of Mixed-Use Architecture: Ocean Heights - New Sustainable Community in Vietnam.
The event is part of the long established International Property Awards and its award winners' logo is recognised as a symbol of excellence throughout the global industry. Attaining one of these coveted awards is indisputable evidence that ICE - ideas for contemporary environments is capable of beating some exceedingly strong contenders within the highly competitive Asia Pacific property arena. Later this year, the highest scoring winners from the Asia Pacific Property Awards will compete against other winning companies from Europe, Africa, the Americas and Arabia to find the ultimate World's Best in each category. The Asia Pacific region has an enviable record of achievement at international level, having scooped seven World's Best awards in the finals of both 2009 and 2010. No doubt the property industry will be watching and waiting to see if this record number of international wins can be matched or even beaten in 2011.
The judging panel is chaired by Lord Bates of Langbaurgh and consists of more than 60 professionals whose collective knowledge of the property industry is unsurpassed by any other property awards. This year's judges include James Bacon, UK account manager of Google; Peter Bolton King, group chief executive of the National Federation of Property professionals; David Dalby of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS); and Mike McNamara of the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).

Ocean Heights has been approved by the local authorities in Binh Tuan and will start sales of the villas soon. The project features iconic timeshare service apartments, standard villas, luxury villas and a beach front resort, tied together by a central park. The development is designed sustainability criteria, minimizing sealed surfaces, maximizing pedestrian and natural zones.

ICE in collaboration with Trinity win a second prize in an international invited competition for DC6 - Dragon City, Vung Tau, a high density mixed use seafront resort near Ho Chi Minh City. The design was putting emphasis on maximizing views, privacy and environmental aspects, to resolve the disadvantages of density.
We are excited to announce, that the book series 'ABC Teaching Architecture', designed and conceptualized by swiss graphic designer Ludovic Balland, which includes our publication of 'Radical Mix in Hanoi' is part of the selction of the 'Most Beautiful Swiss Books'. It will be featured in a catalogue and an exhibition and will compete at the Leipzig book fair for the title of the 'Most Beautiful Books of the World'. All the best to Ludovic and his creation.

Ulrich Kirchhoff will participate at the 5th annual city development conference in HCMC, Vietnam from the 24.-25.February, which will discuss the future of urban developments with emphasis on Urban Planning and Sustainable Development, Water Drainage and Waste Managment, City Investments, Transportation Infrastructure, Climate Change and Urban Risk Management and Real Estate development and Management.

ICE participates in Deadline Today! 99+ stories on making architectural competition in Bratislava. Opening will be on 17.February at 5:00 pm in the Water Tower. The exhibition is a travel exhibition, which previously was in Vienna, Austria, Brno, Czech Republic, Barcelona, Spain and Florence, Italy. Next stop will be Porto, Portugal.

ICE and Trinity submit Ocean Heights to the local authorities for approval.The project is a 144 ha resort masterplan, which incorporates timeshare service apartments, standard villas, luxury villas and a beach front resort. We expect approval end of January and the commencement of the architecture design soon after.

We are very pleased to announce the exhibition "Radical Mix in Hanoi", which represents the results of our research on high density, mixed use developments during the teaching semester at the ENAC at EPF Lausanne. It also formulates the third position in the exhibition series "Teaching Architecture. 3 Positions Made in Switzerland". The opening and accompanying book launch "Radical Mix" will take place on Friday, 19th November at 6:30 pm in the Istituto Svizzero in Venice, Italy.

We just completed the renovation of a residential property in Hong Kong for the famous French photographer Virgile Bertrand. The design aims to increase the quality of life by strategic interventions to the architecture. An update in the project folder will follow soon.
