The project evolved originally out of a feasibility study about cyclic elevators as a low maintenance cost solution for vertical public transport. As a case study, we applied it to the Thyssen Krupp Elevator Competition in Dubai. The project is a sightseeing tower at the perimeter of the city center, located between airport and CBD. As the site forms a natural gate to Dubai, the cyclic evevator was allowing, to frame the view for the arriving visitors of Dubai. The 'Window of Dubai' offers on the ground a convention center and on the top levels a sightseeing platform, skygarden and restaurants.
