KPMC

KPMC is the combination of a Pop Music Center, a maritime museum and an urban park. Located in the center of the city, it stimulates the former port area. The combination of the different programs creates a multidiversity in the center of Kaoshiung, activating both the harbour as well as the city center through the integration of all the functions into the city fabric. A sightseeing tower in form of a star emphasises the importance of the site for the city. The design aims to maximize the park as well as the newly introduced program, by creating an ondulating surface, which becomes green roofscape or water floodscape, to soften and introduce an element of ever changing boundary condition.
