DK2

DK2 is an award winning proposal in an international invited competition for the tallest landmark residential structure in Hanoi. Located at the edge of the famous West Lake, opposite the CBD of Hanoi, any structure that tall will be beyond the usual city scale. We therefor decided, to not design a shape, but a building, that performs from inside out. Our research has shown, that people in Hanoi don't like to live in highrise structures, but in the rather tradinitional courtyard buildings. Consequently, the design aims, to transcent this living into the vertical and to creat a building with a more sustainable residential environment through introducing vertical private gardens and split units for the towers as well as a landscaped podium.
